11/1/2023 0 Comments Devour sandwiches reviewIt has a decent flavor, but we would have loved it if the chunks were bigger. The sausage on our pizza was a little bit dry, but we blame that on our overcooking. Here, they work really well, adding a nice little zing to the taste. The thing about these two specific veggies is that even small quantities of them can really change the overall flavor profile of the pizza. Well, the phrase loaded up might be a bit of an exaggeration, but there are veggies on this pizza. Yes, this thing is loaded up with green bell peppers and onions. Now, this frozen pizza has something that was lacking on the previous two Devour pizzas we tried: veggies. Even though we made a bit of a cooking snafu, this pizza is just as tasty as we were hoping it’d be. We ended up browning the cheese a bit too much on one side of the pizza, as you can see in the image below.īut we didn’t ruin this, by any means. We gave ours a few extra minutes to see if we could get the crust extra crispy, but that’s not a choice we’d recommend. Simply preheat your oven to 400 degrees fahrenheit, then pop this pizza on a baking sheet and let it cook for about 30 minutes. But, for whatever reason, this is supposedly the official frozen pizza of the UFC. It’s certainly not the sort of food we could picture a UFC fighter munching down before a fight. We don’t really know how Devour got a UFC endorsement on this thing. Today we’re going to keep on cruising through this tasty line to see what the Devour Ultimate Sausage & Peppers Pizza is all about. So far we’ve tasted “The Carnivore” and the Three Way Pepp, and both were delicious yet calorie-packed frozen pizzas. To learn more about the nutrition content or ingredients in this Devour grilled cheese sandwich, check out our package scans below. When we found out that Devour, which is one of our favorite frozen food brands, got into the frozen pizza game, we knew right away that we needed to try as much of their offerings as we could find. Say, that gives us an idea for a re-review… We think you could probably fix this if you used a toaster oven instead of the microwave, but we can’t say for certain because we haven’t tried it yet. ![]() The Devour Philly Cheesesteak Grilled Cheese tastes great but it’s a little soggy. That would be fine for a meal that left us feeling stuffed, but we were still hungry after eating this sandwich. One sandwich has 480 calories (150 from fat). This should come as no surprise to anyone who’s familiar with Devour’s frozen meals, but this is no low-calorie affair. These aren’t your itty-bitty little bits either, you’ll find substantial pieces of both in between the slices of bread. It has this smokey flavor to it, which enhances the beef phenomenally well.Īdded into the mix are fire-roasted green peppers and caramelized onions. That means it’s a gooey sauce that also has some stretchiness - it’s the best of both cheese worlds. Dear lord, what can we even say about this cheese sauce? The sauce itself is a cheddar sauce, but it has a blend of cheddar, mozzarella, and provolone in it as well. We only wish there were more of it.Īnd the cheese sauce. Don’t expect gristly, chewy meat this is perfection. This is real angus beef, and it’s fantastic - it’s rich in flavor and tender, so eating it is a pleasant experience. ![]() The bread stays dry around the very, very edges, but the rest of it will be moist and even a bit sticky.ĭevour wasn’t kidding around when it came to the beef, though. Now, we’ve mentioned this before, but when it comes to Devour’s microwavable sandwiches, the crisping trays don’t seem to do as much good as they do for some other frozen foods. Once you get this all set up, stick in the microwave for two minutes and 40 seconds. You can see in the photo above how well the box survived the process - its creases are crisp and its flat surfaces are left unbent. Sometimes, we find these sorts of contraptions to be difficult to work with, but this time we had no trouble tearing or folding the box. This sandwich comes with a crisping tray, so you can fold the box, set the crisping tray on it, then place the two halves of the sandwich on top of that. Now, we promise we’ll stop getting sappy here because we’ve got business to attend to: today we’re checking out the Devour Philly Cheesesteak Grilled Cheese, and boy are we ever excited to dive in. On one hand, we’re glad we get to try something new from Devour, but on the other, we know that every item review means there is one less evour item left for us to review. So it’s always a bit bittersweet to review something we haven’t tried before. In fact, their Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese is one of our favorite frozen meals. We tend to really enjoy Devour’s frozen food here at Freezer Meal Frenzy.
